Monkey Business

This week at Lucy's four month appointment, Dr. Dirmeyer talked about how 4-6 months is a crucial time for brain and language development. He stressed the importance of reading to Lucy and doing things with her to stimulate her brain. I've noticed that Lucy seems rather bored lately with her selection of toys so I decided to spend some leftover gift card money to pick out a few new things. We went to Target and this monkey is one of the things I got. If you touch the monkey's nose it lights up and plays music. It entertained her for 30 minutes in the store yesterday and kept her from getting fussy.

Day at the Zoo

Yesterday, Lucy and I went to the Knoxville Zoo with Kadena and Aiden. Even though Lucy is a little too young to notice the animals she really enjoys being outside and this was her first time facing forward in the stroller.
Notice Lucy sucking on her bottom lip. She's been doing that a lot lately.
This is the overly friendly camel that ate goldfish right out of Aiden's stroller!

Four Month Check Up

Today was Lucy's four month check up with Dr. Dirmeyer. She was 13 lbs. 14 oz. and 24 inches long. The picture above was taken after we got home from the appointment. You can tell she is worn out and hot from being in the car. The pictures below is a look back at her very first appointment when she was 3 days old.

T-Ball Game

Today we went and watched Lucy's cousin, Noah, play T-Ball. It was a beautiful day and I really enjoyed just being outside. I think Lucy did too. Doesn't Noah look cute in his uniform?

More Fun In The Sun

Yesterday Lucy and Libby had a play date in the baby pool at Shannon's house. She filled it up and let it sit in the sun for a few hours so the water was nice and warm.
Libby was intrigued by the water. Lucy was more interested in watching Shannon's dog walk around the pool.

Look at those chunky legs :)
Lucy only lasted about 20 minutes and then she wanted to take a nap. What a party pooper...

Pool Day

Today Lucy got to try on her swimsuit for the first time. We went to a pool with my friend Kadena and her little boy, Aiden. Lucy had a blast!
It was pretty hot out there. I lathered her up with sunscreen and had a hat on her the whole time.
I wasn't sure how she would react but she really seemed to like being in the water. I bounced her up and down and twirled her legs around in it.
As you can see, she wasn't very excited about this floaty :)

What a fun day!

Lucy is taking her afternoon nap while I'm posting this and she is going on three hours! That's the longest she has slept during the day in a long time. She must be worn out. :)

4 Months Old!

Lucy is 4 months old today! Here are some pictures from our morning photo shoot...lol. Lucy was so happy this morning after she woke up that I decided to sit her in the chair and take a few pictures. It was a little casual but still cute. :) Some of the things she is doing at this age are laughing out loud, rolling from front to back, teething ( I think ), smiling alot, reaching for things, starting to put everything in her mouth, and just being down right adorable.
