Big Girl Bathtime and Pulling Up

Now that Lucy is sitting up so well she has graduated to taking a bath without the baby bathtub. She LOVES it! She can splash around more and play with toys.

She also tries to "swim" on her tummy and crawl around the tub. It's fun until she gets a mouthful of water...poor baby
Lucy has been trying to pull up on things lately and last Saturday she pulled up on her exersaucer and stood up. I couldn't believe it! I was on the computer when I saw her standing and I rushed over to make sure she didn't fall and then told Josh to get the camera. All the pictures below except for the last one are from earlier in the day when I was watching her try to pull up without success but I got some good action shots. :)

...and..."Tada!" She held on for about 45 seconds. The exersaucer isn't the sturdiest object to hold on to. It's a little shaky but she kept her balance surprisingly well. I can't believe my baby stood up. She is growing up so fast.

Labor Day Weekend

Last weekend was a busy one for the Andrews Family. Saturday began with Josh, his brother and his Dad working on our kitchen counter tops. Then it was off to a friend's house to watch the UT game. We left there to go to a birthday party for a friend of mine's two year old. On Sunday we got together with family for my sister-in-law's birthday. And then on Monday we spent the day on the lake with more friends...phew! It was a fun-filled weekend!
"Go Vols!"

sweet baby girl :)

Ryan and Allyson invited us to go out with them on the boat Monday afternoon. I'm so glad that Josh didn't have to work. It was beautiful weather and we all had a great time.
It didn't take long for Lucy to find this strap and start chewing on it.
She wasn't sure what to think about the life jacket. It was a little big on her...the look on her face cracks me up, haha
Lucy's first tubing experience going 5 miles/hour.
Getting rid of the life jacket...too uncomfortable
We gave up on the tubing idea and decided to let the babies swim instead.
Lucy has SO much fun in this thing...
She didn't stop smiling or squealing the whole time she was in the water.
snack time :)
Hanging out with Shannon and Libby
Mommas and babies watching the guys tube (notice Lucy holding onto the strap...so funny)
Daddies and babies watching us take a turn
I've started giving Lucy little snacks like Gerber graduates yogurt melts and apple cinnamon puffs. She will grab them from my hand three at a time and shove them in her mouth or open her mouth really wide and do a "face plant" right into my hand...lol

Lucy and Mommy :)

Also last weekend Lucy learned to sit up on her own. I walked into her room to get her up from her nap on Sunday afternoon and she was sitting up in the crib. She has been practicing pushing herself up with her hands for several weeks but this was the first time she got to a full upright position. Way to go Lucy!

7 Months Old!

Lucy turned 7 months old on Tuesday! I can't believe how quickly the time is flying by. She brings so much joy to our lives and is getting cuter by the day :) Some of the things she has learned to do this month are scoot all around the house (as seen in a previous post), sit up better on her own, and push herself almost into a sitting position. No signs of teeth yet.
Lucy gets excited for the camera for the first few minutes...
...and then she gets bored and I can't get her to look at me

One Saturday we woke Lucy up from a late nap to go out to eat for dinner. I don't think she ever completely woke up...lol
...still sleepy
Sitting outside at Chili's waiting for a table
Lucy's poker face... :) I couldn't get her to smile for anything
I think Lucy "ate" 4 or 5 coasters while we were there. Whatever it takes to keep her happy :)
Mmm...
I LOVE getting Lucy up from her naps.
She is always so excited to see me and gives me the sweetest smiles.

Enjoying some time in her Johnny Jumper

Eating a pear...she worked on this thing for 30 minutes

sweet giggles...
