Trip to the Zoo

Last week Lucy and I went to the zoo. I have been wanting to get a pass for a while now so I figured I would get one this year while Lucy still gets in for free. I got a dual membership (which includes an unnamed adult) so if any of my friends out there want to go with us sometime let me know. We had so much fun! Lucy "talked" to every animal she saw :)

Me and Lucy checking out the zebras :)
The Gibbons were so fun to watch...this guy was really friendly :)
Taking a little break...
Time for lunch :)
The Wee Play Zoo was really fun. Lucy enjoyed the infant crawl area.
"Hey Mom!"
"Watch this"
They had all kinds of fun things for the kids to do in the Wee Play Zoo. The area pictured below was set up like a barn and they had some bunnies in an enclosure. Lucy talked to them nonstop. Well...it was more like squawking, lol

Working on the farm... :)

The petting zoo was fun :)
Lucy brushed the goats...
...and then tried to brush her hair :)

Having a blast! :)

We can't wait to go back :)

Field Trip

Last Friday I took Lucy to the Children's Museum in Oak Ridge. We went with the M.O.Ms group that I have been doing stuff with for the last month or so. I wasn't sure how interesting it would be for Lucy but they actually had a lot of stuff for little kids to do and to look at.
Here's Lucy playing with a very old xylophone
Walking into the room with the birds
Talking to the birds :) ...they were stuffed but she didn't notice, lol

Playing with some old timey kids toys
a little rocker
and a bed
She really wanted to touch the stuffed cat
I think she thought it was real :)
This castle room was really cool.
Lucy loved the slide!
And she loved going down backwards :)

Playing with the other kiddos...
This was the Waterworks room. There were several large containers filled with water all joined together with plastic boats and rubber duckies. They had aprons for the kids to wear to keep them from getting soaked.
Lucy loved splashing in the water :)

The Museum also had a life size doll house for little kids. It was so neat! The kitchen counters were just their size and I don't know if you can tell but over to the right there was a living room with kid size furniture. There was even an upstairs.
On the second floor there was this little doll house to play with...

Lucy had fun with it too :)
The train room
Riding in the caboose :)
After we were done exploring the museum we had a picnic lunch right next door under a pavilion. There was a playground next to the picnic area
I thought Lucy would be too tired to play but she walked right over to it all on her own...haha
Having a blast!
I don't think she wanted to leave...
Finally I convinced her that she was tired and it was time to go :)
What a fun time!

Photography by Holly

About two weeks ago we got some family pictures taken by our friend Holly. Her husband works for Josh and we also know them through our church. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time just being ourselves while she snapped some really cute photos. These are some of my favorites...
